　　There was once a Prince. He wanted to marry* a real princess. He traveled all over the world and met many princesses. But were they real princesses? The Prince could not be sure. At last he was sad and returned* to his palace.
　　从前有一位王子，他想与一位真正的公主结婚。他走遍了全世界，也遇见了许多公主。可她们是真正的公主吗？王子无法确定。最后，他很伤心，只好回家了。
　　
　　One evening, it rained hard*. Suddenly there was someone knocking* at the door. So the old king, the Prince’s father, went out to open it. It was a girl.
　　一天晚上，雨下得很大。突然有人在敲门，于是老国王，即王子的父亲就走过去开门了。原来是个女孩。
　　
　　Was she a real princess? The old queen wanted to know. She said nothing but went quietly* into the bedroom.
　　她是真正的公主吗？老皇后很想知道。她什么也没说，只是悄悄地走进卧房。
　　
　　She put three little peas on the bedstead*. Then she laid* twenty mattresses* over the peas, and put twenty feather beds* over the mattresses.
　　她在床榻上放了三粒豌豆，又把二十床垫子压在豌豆上。随后，她又在这些垫子上放了二十床鸭绒被。
　　
　　Now everyone knew she was a real princess, because she could feel the three little peas through* the twenty mattresses and twenty feather beds. No one but a real princess could be so sensitive*.
　　现在大家都认为她是一位真正的公主了，因为她居然能感觉得到压在二十床垫子和二十床鸭绒被下面的三粒豌豆。除了真正的公主外，任何人是不会这样敏感的。
　　
　　The next morning, the girl said she didn’t sleep well.
　　第二天早上，女孩说她没有睡好。
　　I don’t know what was in my bed, but I felt something hard under me. It hurt* me so much! 我不知道我的床上有什么东西，可我感觉自己睡到了某样硬硬的东西上面，弄得我好疼！
　　
　　At last the Prince married the princess. They put the three peas into a treasure* box. If they are not lost*, we can still see them.
　　最后，王子与这位公主结婚了。他们把这三粒豌豆放进了珍品盒。如果它们没有丢失的话，我们还可以看到它们哦。
